She could tell that her latest move had taken him by surprise, and she would soon reap the benefits of her strategy. She would not lose to this man again. The quickness of his moves last night had surprised her and made her lose her concentration. She had lost horribly.

She was studying again. Typical, he thought to himself. She hadn’t stopped since Professor McGonagall disappeared in the middle of class.
It hurt. It hurt to see her so worried and so determined that she wouldn’t take care of herself. She hadn’t eaten for at least a week; probably hadn’t slept for three days. She worried him. Does he know?Too many times she had let him pass without saying anything. Did he know? Could he ignore her if he did? His eyes twinkled when they rested on her. She saw them in the reflection of windows, mirrors and the eyes of others. He never gave a hint yet it would be ridiculous to assume he did not know; that his smiles were ignorant. Ignorance was not something one could associate with him.Does he know?
Was his silence, then, a point to her to say nothing? Was this his way of saying “keep quiet”?
It was dangerous, to say the least; this secret between them. Not a word could pass between them to confirm what they knew.

Yeah it was insane. There were people in my dorm with the count on their doors.
I hope you do read the fic. And I think I have gotten over the writer's block. Don't know exactly how far into the 8th chapter I am, but I have 5 pages so far so that is a good sign.
